International Forum "Transport Capacity"

The transportation system and the international transit of goods will be discussed in October in St. Petersburg

On October 5-6, 2017 St. Petersburg will host the X International Forum "Transport Capacity". The forum is a unique public independent G2B and B2B platform, where the issues of the transport system functioning of Russia are raised in the context of the development of transit opportunities. The venue of the event provides an opportunity to discuss comprehensively the trends and problems in the field of transport and logistics activities and cargo transportation with representatives of relevant federal ministries and departments, to get an idea of the opportunities for access to new markets and expansion of exports. The purpose of the forum is to contribute to the creation of a modern and highly efficient transport system in Russia in accordance with the requirements of the modern economy, as well as to enhance the competitiveness of Russia and Russian business in the international transit of goods.

It is expected that in 2017 more than 400 delegates from 50 regions of Russia and 10 foreign countries will take part in the work of Forum. Shippers, enterprises providing freight forwarding and transport and logistics services, developers and producers of technologies for the transport industry, transport infrastructure subjects, representatives of the transport engineering industry, financial, legal and consulting companies, as well as educational, scientific and non-profit organizations are invited to participate.

Within the framework of the business program, the participants will discuss the state policy in the transport sector, international cooperation and enhancement of Russia's transport and transit potential, development of the freight transportation market and interaction between various modes of transport, prospects for international transport corridors involving Russia, customs, tariff, taxation and development of foreign trade activities. The issues of the unified space in the EEU, public-private partnership in the industry, logistics and warehousing services, transport engineering and the introduction of modern technologies will also be raised.

Leaders of the transport industry providing logistics, customs, consulting, financial and investment services, as well as manufacturers of high-tech products, components and vehicles will present their developments in the exhibition area of the Forum.

The main outcome of the work will be a resolution with proposals and recommendations reflecting the participants' position on key aspects of the transport system development and enhancing the transit potential of Russia. The document will be sent to the relevant committees of the upper and lower chambers of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, ministries and agencies in order to improve the state policy and legal regulation of the freight market in Russia.

The forum will be held with the support of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Eurasian Economic Commission, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, other relevant federal agencies and departments that develop and implement state policy in the sphere of transport.

The event will be held at one of the leading venues of the northern capital - in the business hotel Crowne Plaza St. Petersburg Airport.
