About the event

On the 10th — 11th of July, 2009 a conference «St.Petersburg — the Sea Capital of Russia. Sea Tourism», dedicated to the problems of development of sea and river cruises, ferry communication and yacht tourism in all regions of the country, will take place in St.Petersburg within the framework of the Project «St.Petersburg — the Sea Capital of Russia» of the Party «United Russia». The major tasks of the conference are exchanging of experience and building constructive dialogue between authority and business, discussion and solving critical issues which have been met by the branch under the circumstances of the financial crisis. During the discussion measures to create economic conditions for the development of cruise and yacht subindustries and elimination of administrative hurdles for tourist business will be worked out. Separate attention will be paid to the issues of state and private cooperation in forming and development of attendant infrastructure, which will meet the modern requirements, in all regions of Russia. The following issues will be considered at the conference: Development and popularization of sea and river tourism in Russia; Measures to stimulate demand of foreign tourists for the Russian tourist product, connected with the usage of water supply under the circumstances of the financial crisis; Forming the Federal task program of development of sea and river tourism in the Russian Federation; The role of the state in building and improving the present passenger ports and cruise infrastructure; International experience in the development of sea tourism and tourist infrastructure; Ways of renovation of the cruise fleet of the country; Development of tourist infrastructure in Sotchi, Vladivostok and other seaside towns of Russia, Saint-Petersburg experience as the biggest port for call of cruiser liners; Development of ferry communication between Russia and foreign countries; Working-out measures of development of yacht and speed-boat tourism in all seaside and river regions of the Russian Federation.
